Long Arm Quilt Finishing

The quilt finishing and custom made quilt creation services at Jul's Quilted Treasures are performed with professionalism and care using a Viking Mega Quilter and a Qbot mounted on a large Inspira machine quilting frame (Long Arm Quilting).

The Mega Quilter from Husqvarna Viking is a high-speed, straight stitch machine. It has the speed, design and ability to achieve spectacular results faster than traditional quilting.

What is QBOT?  QBot stands for 'Quilting Based on Technology."  It is an advanced, computerized machine quilting system.

The Long Arm quilting method involves placing the layers of material to be quilted on the quilting frame.  The quilting frame has bars onto which the material is rolled which keeps the layers together so that there is no need for pinning or basting.  The QBOT and Viking Mega Quilter are mounted on a rolling platform on the quilting frame.  The desired quilt stitch pattern for the quilt is loaded into the QBOT.  The platform rolls on tracks so that the Viking machine moves across the layers of material on the frame.  After a section of the material is quilted together, the material is manually rolled so that the next section of material can be quilted together.  The quilter must take care to be sure that the stitching patterns are correct and that the quilting material remains straight and not wrinkled.  The stitching through the layers of material, in a decorative pattern, secures the layers together and adds beauty and a design to the finished quilt.  Also, air is trapped within the quilted sections which gives the finished quilt that warm and cozy look and feeling.
